March 14, 2013- BBB Serving Northeast Florida & the Southeast Atlantic has been alerted that a local Accredited Business has become an apparent victim of ID theft. Company President, Scott Marion contacted BBB to let us know scammers are purportedly calling consumers saying they represent his company All N One Check Advance informing consumers that they have been approved for a loan. They then ask for an advance fee for the loan to be loaded onto a prepaid Visa card. Once the consumers give the information on the Visa gift card to the scammers, the money loaded onto the card is gone and no loan is given. When trying to contact the phone numbers that the scammers have contacted consumers from, an automated message is given letting consumers know that the number is not accepting phone calls.
Scott advised BBB he does not conduct business via telephone and does not request prepaid credit cards. He has issued an alert on his business website. Scammers are capitalizing on his A+ rating wi

Consumers who have contacted the BBB informed us that while the merchandise is still in the store, there is a sign on the storefront stating that they are closed with no other information. When you try calling the phone number (904) 781-0127) a recording comes on stating you have reached a number that is disconnected or no longer in service. The website for the company, www.homerenovationsjacksonville.com,was never completed.
BBB has tried to find out more information about the company and its ownership with no luck. Searching the Florida Department of State Division of Corporations returns no results, the same for the Duval county local business tax search. January 9, 2013 – Jacksonville FL The Better Business Bureau serving Northeast Florida & the Southeast Atlantic has received multiple complaints against a company purported to be selling auto accessories online. The business website, www.diselgang.com, lists pages of inexpensive auto accessories all with the promise of free shipping. Complainants allege though that they never ordered anything from this company. The amounts the company is charging are very small and range from $6 -$11. Amounts that may be overlooked very easily when going over your monthly expenses. When pursuing a refund the consumers hit a dead end and contact the BBB to voice their concerns. We have taken this very seriously and done an investigation of our own. Here is what we have found:
Despite the website listing a contact number with a 904 area code, www.diselgang.com is not located in Jacksonville, FL. The website, which has only been active for 3 months, is registered to an individual in Chelyabinskaya, Russ

BBB serving Northeast Florida & the Southeast Atlantic reminds you to do your homework before hiring a contractor in the wake of Hurricane Isaac. Many contractors are reputable; however, some unethical operators may attempt to take advantage of storm victims. Here are some quick tips:
Check the reliability of a company with the BBB first.
Obtain at least three estimates. Make sure that the estimates are itemized and the same work and variations should be noted.
Ask for the license number and verify with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors, South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation depending on your location.
Have a written contract for your repairs and understand it thoroughly before you sign. Be certain the contract includes the contractor’s name, street address, telephone number and state license number.
